Frequently Asked Questions

Asked and answered in writing

You deserve peace of mind when handing someone your pets and your house keys.

Can I really trust someone I've never met with my home and pets?

You never have to — because you will meet Kim first. Every new client starts with a free meet & greet in your home: your pets size Kim up, you ask anything you like, and nothing gets booked until you're all comfortable.

  • Insured — Pet Care Insurance

“A lock box will be provided for your house keys. The information added to the home access section of the intake forms such as alarms and lockbox codes is encrypted for your safety.” — Kim's key protocol, in her own words

And it's the same person every time — Kim herself, not a rotating roster from an app.

What happens if my pet gets sick or hurt while I'm away?

There's a written plan before there's ever a problem. Emergency forms are filled out with vet information, vet cost limits, additional contacts in case of emergency and more.

“I will always call you first. If you are unavailable I will call the vet listed on your intake forms and follow the spending cap listed below Routine/urgent care: up to $1,500 without additional authorization. Life-threatening emergency: you authorize necessary stabilization while I continue to try to reach the owner/emergency contact. Major surgery/hospitalization: I will obtain owner approval whenever reasonably possible” — the emergency plan, in Kim's words

You also set a vet-care spending cap up front — Kim won't authorize more than $1,500.00 without reaching you first, and you can set that number yourself.

Will I actually know how my pets are doing?

Yes — and it's a promise, not a vibe: you get A photo update each visit..

See what those look like on the pupdates and kittycams page.

If anything ever seems off — appetite, behavior, anything — you'll hear about it immediately, not in a recap upon return.  Also, photo updates for each visit are sent directly to your phone.

How do you handle keys, alarm codes, and cameras?

Exactly the way you say to — it's all written down at approval and followed to the letter. Keys, smart locks, alarm arms, parking, off-limits rooms: your instructions are the manual.

“A lock box will be provided for your house keys. The information added to the home access section of the intake forms such as alarms and lockbox codes is encrypted for your safety.” — Kim's key protocol

Those details are collected only after a booking is approved, stored encrypted, shown to no one else, and never sent by email. Cameras? Your home, your rules — tell Kim where they are and she'll wave.

How is this different from Rover or Wag?

The apps sell you a marketplace; this is a person. You get the same insured sitter every time — someone your pets already know — with no platform fees taken out of either side.

On price: published rates here are comparable to what local Rover sitters actually cost once Rover's roughly 11% client service fee is added on. The difference isn't the money — it's who shows up.

How does booking and payment work?

You send a request with your dates and pets, Kim confirms personally (new clients start with the free meet & greet), and every request shows an estimate from the published rates. No payment is taken online — you settle directly with Kim. Deposit and scheduling details live on the policies page.

Didn't see your question? No question is too fussy — that's the whole point.
